About Us
Paul Burbedge
Professional ballroom dancer and teacher, Paul Burbedge, has been dancing since the age of 9. He has danced competitively in the USA, Japan and New Zealand, as well as various countries across Europe and has represented Scotland and New Zealand in World Championship competitions. His competitive dancing career has spanned 20 years, giving him the knowledge and deep understanding that makes him the talented and intuitive dance teacher that he is today.
Lessons with Paul are relaxed and enjoyable and his down-to-earth manner is ideally suited for the absolute beginner as well as the more proficient pupil. He believes that nothing is impossible – it simply requires the combination of time, imagination and a freeing of the mind in order that the inner potential can be released.
Working with his unique, dynamic ‘energy’ approach to dance teaching makes it possible to achieve the elusive quality of two bodies moving as one. This energy technique is particularly relevant in Ballroom Dancing and is an invaluable skill transferable to all walks of life, be it social or work.
In 2006 Paul created Strictly Fun Dancing bringing together all the elements close to his heart – learning to dance with precision and ease, in an atmosphere of fun and spontaneity. You can enjoy learning jive, salsa, quickstep, foxtrot, tango, cha-cha and more, in vibrant, welcoming surroundings.
Paul also runs a historic, purpose built studio in Dulwich, between Dulwich Village and Herne Hill, South East London: Grafton Dance Centre
